Lady Chapel Altar small cross

We meet to discover God's love and everyone is invited to join us. Regular services are described below, and special services and events are listed in our Diary.  Find those which are right for you.

Revd Rick

 Vicar, Rev'd Richard Bunday

Visitors who would normally receive Holy Communion at their own church, including children, are most welcome to do so at St Michael's, regardless of denomination.  All others are warmly invited to go up to the altar to receive a blessing.

Main weekly service at 10:00

Brass Cross at High Altar

08:00 Holy Communion (BCP)
Weekly (30 mins)
Savour the rich language of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer in this traditional service (no sermon or music).  Even if you have never experienced BCP before, the overall pattern will be familiar.

Either Sung Eucharist

1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sunday each month (60 mins)
Our normal Service of Holy Communion suffused with music led by our Choir and Organist and including a sermon.

Or All-Age Family Worship (without Holy Communion)
2nd Sunday each month (35 mins)
A relaxed service with an informal talk and well-known hymns attended by St Michael affiliated Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.  There are toys and books available for young children and any noise they may make is not a problem.
Many people who do not usually attend church choose this service.

The All-Age Service is followed by a said Service of Holy Communion at 11:15 (30 mins)

All are invited to stay for refreshments after the 10:00 service each Sunday.

Glass Communion cruet set

09:30 Holy Communion (said)
Weekly (30 mins)
A less formal alternative to our Sunday Eucharist or an opportunity for spiritual refreshment mid-week.  Followed by tea, toast and welcoming chat.

Incense burner

07:30 Holy Communion (said)
Weekly (20 mins.)
A prayerful and intimate service when we meet before the Lady Chapel Altar to begin the day.

St Michaels Primary School

St Michael's CE Primary School Celebration Service
Term-time only
A weekly service with the children and staff of our neighbouring school, which all are invited to attend.

Messy Church Parachute Game

10:30 Messy Church
2nd Saturday each month (2 hours plus lunch)
A very different, refreshingly informal style of Church for families with children aged 0-11.  Each session has its own Biblical theme and is packed with crafts, stories and games.  An optional lunch is then provided for all to share.
